Yew thickets (Taxus baccata) are a priority habitat threatened by fire, cutting, grazing and invasive species. Thus, this project aims to contribute to the restoration of this habitat in the only two places where it occurs in Portugal: SCI Peneda-Gerês and SCI Serra da Estrela. The project also intends to increase public awareness for the need to preserve a very rare forest habitat, which is also very vulnerable to climate change.
